Domestic Refrigerator and Freezer Cabinet

Domestic Refrigerator:

The Refrigerator cabinet has undergone considerable change during the forty years of its evolution as a kitchen necessity.  The wooden icebox. Wood cabinets of multiple door construction and natural wood finishes were common practice. Solid brass, nickel plated hardware was standard. The cabinet lining was galvanized iron or sheet zinc.  Wood or wire mesh shelves ware used.

Originally the electric refrigerator consisted of a cooling coil installed in the ex - ice compartment of an icebox. The condensing unit was ordinarily installed in the basement.    

Use of forced convection evaporators in both domestic Refrigerators. Most cabinet now use a white or color matching lacquer exterior and a porcelain. 

Frozen foods refrigeration has grown tepidly in the last few years.  This field of quick or fast frozen foods has caused the development of new types of domestic and commercial equipment. It has presented new problems in design, use,  and servicing of frozen food equipment.  Domestic frozen food cabinets can be classified into two categories.

1. Chest type freezer. 

2. Upright freeze.
