Key
Liquid refrigerant under high pressureRefrigerant changed to gas
Gas compressed to high pressure
How Mechanical Refrigerator work:
An Elementary mechanical Refrigerator.
In operation liquid refrigerant under high pressure flows from the liquid receiver to the refrigerant control valve and into the evaporator coil. Here the pressure is greatly reduced and the liquid refrigerant boils and absorbs het from the evaporator coil. The refrigerant is now a gas and it is drown back to the compressor and compressed to a high pressure. Its temperature is greatly increased and in the condenser the heat is transferred to the surrounding air and the refrigerant is cooled and becomes a liquid again. It flows back into the liquid receiver from which its cooling cycle is repeated.
Mechanical cycle:
Cycle which is a repetitive series of mechanical events.
