Commercial refrigeration System,

Commercial Refrigeration System :-

The machines which refrigerate the multitude of commercial refrigeration applications vary considerably in size and in appearance. Machines as small as 1/8 hp are used for

  • Beverage coolers
  • Vending machines
  • Dehumidifiers etc.

Machines of 71/2 to 15 hp and more are used for

  • frozen food walk - in cabinets
  • Industrial cooling etc.

Mechanical Cycle

Most of the large commercial refrigeration apparatus is of the semi hermetic design completely serviceable.

  • Many single unit application
  • Such as bottle coolers
  • Beverage dispensers
  •  And ice cream cabinets use a full hermetic unit with parts of the system being similar to the designs except that the design of the cabinet varies according to the application.

In the commercial refrigerating system, the unit is designed to vaporize   a refrigerant under a controlled pressure in an evaporator. The vapor formed are then compressed and passed to the condensing unit, which removes heat from the vapor and converts it back into a liquid. In some cases the cycles are complicated by the addition of unloading or defrost devices.

Mechanical Mechanism

The single unit commercial refrigeration mechanism apparatus consists of

1. High pressure side:

  • Compressor
  • Condenser
  • Liquid receiver
  • High pressure safety motor control
  • Liquid line

The refrigerant control is at the division point between the low side and the high side of the system,

2. Low pressure side:

  • Evaporator
  • Low pressure or temperature motor control

  • Suction line

The multiple mechanism consists of

1. High pressure side:

  • Compressor
  • Condenser
  • Liquid receiver
  • High pressure motor control
  • Liquid lines
  • Water valve used with water cooled unit

2. Low pressure side:

  • Refrigerant control
  • Evaporators
  • Motor control
  • Suction lines with suction line manifold
  • Two temperature valves
  • Surge tanks
  • Check valves

Condensing units are normally mounted on a steel base. In the open unit, the motor operates the compressor through the use of one or more belts. In the hermetic unit the motor is connected directly to the compressor. 25 hp condensing unit which has two 2 1/8 in. Solder type liquid lines.  It is designed for low temperature work and has a 40,600 Btu/hr.

A fabricated steel frame is used to hold the shell and rube condenser on the hermetic unit. The water coil around the electric motor, the oil level sight glass in the lower right of the compressor, and the spring mounted hermetic unit. Multiple cylinder belt-driven commercial condensing unit.
